1. What’s your name and where’d you come from?
Peter Briffett. MD of LivingSocial. I grew up in the UK, Singapore and Africa, so aside from being chased by hippos and having multiple snake bites, I have also founded and managed a number of businesses, created multi-million pound brands and engaged tens of millions of consumers.
2. Tell us one thing you LOVE about digital marketing?
It's changed what is possible. We can now often do things on a daily basis that would have been beyond our wildest dreams only a few short years ago.
3. What’s your best kept digital marketing secret?
If I told you, it wouldn't be a secret. But, since you ask, privacy: it's the future!
4. Choose one: Twitter or Facebook? PPC or SEO? Talking or tweeting? Check in or cop out? Adaptive or responsive?
I would go for: Twitter, SEO, tweeting, check in and adaptive.
5. What’s hot in digital right now?
Mobile, mobile, mobile. As digital marketers, this presents both a phenomenal opportunity and a huge challenge. The race is definitely on in this space , and I look forward to seeing the outcome.
6. If you could only give one piece of marketing advice before you died, what would it be?
I'd give two. Firstly, never be afraid to take a calculated risks - I'm a firm believer that it is those that drive our business forward. Secondly, never take your eye off the horizon. One of the hardest things for a leader in a growing evolving world, like digital media, is maintaining focus on the end goal.
7. What are you looking forward to at the Digital Marketing Show?
Debate: sharing opinions is what fuels innovation in our industry, and I love to hear everyone's thoughts on key issues in digital marketing.
