Online shopping pre and post Christmas 2014 was big news. Growth rates were substantial, with consumers both desktop shopping and buying from mobile devices like never before. Black Friday was the busiest Ecommerce shopping day on record in the UK, and Worldpay reported 74% year on year growth for Ecommerce sales. It was also online retailer Amazon's busiest day ever, with a reported 5.5 million items ordered. It didn't stop there, as Cyber Monday also showed 20.8% growth in traffic in the UK.
On Christmas Day, UK online shoppers completed 25% more transactions than they did in 2013. However, Boxing Day was not the busiest UK online retail day in 2014 for the first time in 7 years, having had its title stolen by Black Friday!
