What better way to spend your Friday morning than learning more about some of the thought-provoking speakers lined up for Integrated Live
Kick-starting the weekend is Anthony "Tas" Tasgal, a trainer, author and digital strategist.
What area of marketing do you specialise in?
I started in advertising, but I specialise in storytelling and insight.
How long have you been with the company?
I’ve been doing this around 17 years.
How long have you been in marketing?
A long time, over 30 years.
Why do you do what you do?
I’ve always believed in being eclectic. I’ve always been interesting in how people make choices, how stories are told and how you attract people to something.
Which marketing platform do you use the most (and it can't be your own!)?
If you could only use one marketing platform for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Face-to-face. We underestimate the power of talking to people directly.
What is your favourite thing about marketing?
The mix of things it involves, the diversity of people you come across and finding the mix between theory and practice of marketing.
Is content still king?
Yes! But the context is becoming just as important.
In a sentence, what's your presentation about?
I'm talking about the power of storytelling, and how we've lost that power. I think a lot of content is 'messaging' people, but we need to massage consumers.
You can find Tas' presentation on storytelling in the digital age in the Content Theatre at 1pm at Integrated Live on 16 November, but you'll have to register for your free ticket first:
