Nobody forgets their first romance, and with 73% of Facebook users in the UK starting their Valentine's Day planning a week before February 14th, now is the time to make sure your business is tugging heartstrings in the News Feed.

A poll conducted by Facebook found that almost two-thirds of men and women in the UK begin planning for Valentine's Day on February 7th. But with 23% of women and 31% of men buying gifts or booking romantic nights out on the day itself, there are still plenty of last-minute shoppers to target.

Reach, Relevance & Romance

Every day in the UK, Facebook reaches 24m people, with 20m logging on via mobile devices. And on Valentine’s Day they’re especially active, with a 1.2x increase in photo uploads compared to the week before.

As Facebook is the only advertising platform that allows you to target by relationship status, it's easier than ever to engage with customers who have got engaged. According to Facebook data, over 317,000 UK users changed their relationship status within a week of Valentine’s Day last year, while around 27,000 changed their status to 'engaged'.

Of course, if you want to be part of the Valentine's Day conversation you need to speak the language of love. Last year in the UK, Valentine's Day chatter was concentrated around words like 'Love', 'Chocolate', 'Greeting Cards', 'Beauty' and 'Present', with under-24s the most talkative demographic.

So make a date with the News Feed this Valentine's Day. Connect with all the people who matter to your business on the day they matter most to each other.
