Google has rolled out it's latest algorithm update, Panda 4.0.

Panda 4.0 is the latest in a long line of updates which determine how high websites appear on Google's results pages.

The algorithm is widely considered the biggest update of the year. Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) experts claim it could give smaller businesses a fighting chance of being found on Google.

Thomas Schonenberger, MediaVision Director, said: "It's important to note that this is a Panda update and not a Penguin update. Panda targets websites with thin content, such as aggregator sites. Still, sites like eBay have been amongst the big losers at the moment. Panda has been rolling out steadily for the last couple of years, and as marketers we have been ensuring that we have emphasised high quality original content with our clients. So far we haven't seen any significant changes amongst our client sites, which falls in line with what Google have suggested."
