Hosting a great webinar is a fantastic way to build-up business contacts, showcase yourself as an authority within the industry and even promote your products or services.
Interaction, social presence and great speakers are just some of the ways you can change your webinars from good to great. However, the majority of marketers don’t believe their webinars are good to begin with.
In a poll of over 1000 marketers, only 7% viewed their webinars as “great”, whilst the majority viewed their webinars as average or worse.
So, how can you create a webinar that totally rocks?
Here are a few key lessons you can learn from the most successful webinars of 2016, who have raised the bar for what’s possible when it comes to webinar marketing.
Create engaging and interactive audience experiences
Keeping audiences engaged during your webinar is difficult; you only have five minutes before people start to lose attention. But if you interact with your audience throughout your webinar and create engaging content, there is no reason for your audience to be disinterested.
This can be done in various different ways, including before the webinar even takes place. It’s never too early to upload pre-course materials and video links, which can spark interest prior to the event. But whilst the webinar is taking place, the easiest way to captivate your audience’s attention is engaging conversation through Q&A’s and polls.
Those who host great webinars know that engaging content and inventive designs stand out from the rest, making them much more memorable.
Turn webinars into social experiences
By encouraging your audience to have conversations before and after your webinar, you raise the interest in your business and entice non-attendees to watch upcoming webinars in the future.
Using social media is great for this, as the majority of people use these tools as part of their day-to-day job. Plus, it adds a valued personal touch.
Social media tools such as Twitter and Facebook allow you to interact with your audience, promote previous webinars, updates followers on upcoming events and leads viewers to share via their social accounts, all of which create a more successful webinar and audience base.
Deliver multiple content touches in a single webinar
Unlike the majority of content, great webinars can pack a number of different marketing touches into one single event. Webinars allow you to offer other content to your viewers, such as attaching data sheets and white papers, which not only helps you out by potentially gaining more product purchases, it also supports educating audiences.
Blogs make great content to link with your webinars, as they encourage consumers to explore your brand message in their own time, whenever they feel like it. Integrating your own short videos such as interview clips can be used as promotional boosters that also increase the engagement of the viewer.
Convert webinar leads into sales opportunities
As little as 10% of generated leads are “sales ready”, meaning the majority of leads need to be progressed before they turn into actual sales leads. The best way to ensure your webinar leads can be converted into sales opportunities is through building a relationship between yourself and the audience.
Along with delivering a great webinar, follow up with any prospective customers quickly using the information you have gained from the event registration. You could follow up via email, by thanking them for their attendance to the event and providing them with additional information, but why not pick up the phone? This creates a more personal connection, gains the trust of your audience and encourages them to purchase products or simply come back to view more webinars, which is only a good thing.
