SIINDA, the Search and Information Industry Association will stage its first specialist retail event in London on 31 March 2017. The SIINDA Retail Day, which is in partnership with location data management platform Yext, will see well-known names in retail come together to cover a rich and varied agenda designed to address and educate attendees of the current challenges faced by retailers of all sizes in implementing a successful local marketing strategy. Topics to be covered include EU Legislation, the impact of Brexit as well as the new dynamic disruption technologies and location-based services that are changing the local marketing ecosystem. The SIINDA Retail Day will take place on 31 March 2017 at the Hilton Bankside Hotel in Central London and organisations speaking include House of Fraser, Ipsos and The Latitude Group.

The LOCALCOMM Retail Event follows SIINDA’s highly successful and already well established Local Digital Media & Commerce Conferences which is in its 4th year. Event attendees will hear first-hand from SMBs through to large brands on how they are equipping themselves to better meet consumer demand. The conference will also explore new technologies that support hyperlocal marketing and well as providing the opportunity to network with some of the leaders in this digital space.

“The evolution of intelligent search has given consumers new tools to find store locations on the go, and has challenged retailers to provide rich, high-quality information, made available across a multitude of digital platforms from Google to Snapchat and Uber, in order to compete for customer mindshare,” said Jon Buss, Yext Managing Director for the UK and Northern Europe. “SIINDA Retail Day is the perfect forum to discuss how retailers will meet this challenge, and Yext are proud to partner in convening this industry-defining conversation.”

Kimberli J. Lewis, General Manager, SIINDA said: “Whatever their size, everyone in the retail space is involved in local marketing and with the borders now so broadly defined employing a successful marketing strategy has never been so important and it’s essential that retailers are armed with the information necessary to make an informed decision on their marketing.”

“There is no silver bullet on how a retailer should reach its customers which is why we have introduced the SIINDA Retail Day. It’s a meeting of minds from across the retail spectrum and will provide a forum for people to network and understand the key retail issues of the day as well as share learning practices so that they better equipped to be successful in this fast evolving space,”
