Want to know how I beat the Monday morning commuter-blues? By finding out more about the Integrated Live speakers. No, really. I do. Some people sleep or listen to music. I learn more about people like Amanda Dodd, founder and creative director at Koogar.
Because Integrated Live speakers are pretty much essential if you want to improve your company's marketing efforts.
Amanda is the next one to face our quickfire questions...
What area of marketing do you specialise in?
do email marketing, have done some direct mail and are active on Social Media but they don’t have a plan, strategy or structure to their marketing to get them to the next level. We look at the whole business, integrate the marketing to get the most from it.
How long have you been with the company?
I started Koogar in November 2006 and the number one question I’m asked still to this day is “Where did the name Koogar come from?"
How long have you been in marketing?
I have personally been working in marketing since 1998. Started as a graphic designer, moved into the web and Internet becoming an Internet Developer and finally a Account Manager.
Why do you do what you do?
I wanted to demystify the Internet and marketing to show business owners and marketing managers how to use it more effectively. I love watching businesses who work with us flourish. Taking a different approach to marketing because of the confidence we give them to market themselves authentically, by setting the foundations in place first and then building their ultimate business on top.
Which marketing platform do you use the most? (No, it can't be your own!)
We use Facebook to distribute [our] content to get feedback, hits to the website and to raise awareness of who we are. Blogging allows us to express our opinions and believes about how marketing works for us and our clients.
If you could only use one marketing platform for the rest of your life, what would it be (and you can't use your own!)?
I would probably have face-to-face meetings or what we like to call "Coffee and Cake".
What is your favourite thing about marketing?
My most favourite aspect about marketing is how it constantly evolves and that everyone interprets it slightly differently.
Is content still king?
Content will always be important but I'm not sure its "king" anymore.
In a sentence, what's your presentation about?
Creating a beautiful experience on and offline within your marketing pulls people closer to you and your brand, engages them to stay and to then refer, which enables you to build a stronger and sustainable business.
You can find Amanda's presentation about beautiful experiences in the Engagement & Experiential Theatre at 4:00pm at Integrated Live on 16 November, but you'll have to register for your free ticket first:
